2000 lb. galvanized aircraft cable Instructional placard must be provided accommodating 2
users simultaneously and performing the following exercises:
Lat / Triceps Pulldown, Arm Curl, Bench Press, Incline Press, Shoulder Press, Seated Row,
Abdominal Crunch, Leg Extension / Curl Operating instructions per manufacturer must be
available in a convenient location in plain view in the exercise room.
If 2 separate strength pieces are selected they must include a Dumbbell Rack 5-50 Rubber
Dumbbells with a Utility Bench and a Multi-Functional Trainer or 2 of the following:
Abdominal Bench or Abdominal Machine
Leg Extension
Leg Curl
Leg Press
Hi / Low Pulley Machine
Chest Press or Pec Fly
Seated Row
Your fitness room must meet all of the following specifications and requirements. Submit finish
selections and specifications to the Best Western Design Department for approval prior to
purchase and installation.
Sufficient space must be provided for all equipment and amenities. Best Western recommends
verifying with equipment manufacturer or requesting a floor plan to ensure that all equipment
will fit properly.
ENCLOSURE
New Construction: A minimum of 50 STC, if the room is adjacent to a guest room(s) or areas
adjoining guest room(s)
If fitness room is located adjacent to the pool area, ensure that property ventilation and
dehumidification exists to avoid deterioration of equipment from moisture.
DESIGN GUIDELINES:
Ceiling Height
•New construction: A minimum of 9’-0”.
Ceiling •Painted drywall with textured or smooth finish Or
• 2’x2’ acoustical tile with matching grid Or
• Open ceiling with exposed mechanical systems if
part of a design style/theme.
Walls
• Mirror on one wall, floor to ceiling.
•Vinyl wall covering, Type II, Class “A” applied with an adhesive with
mildew inhibitors
